Parabolic Screen Stainless steel manual
Static parabolic screens find their origin in the mining industry for the separation of dry particles. At present most applications are in solid-liquid separations of granulates, fibers, organic material etc. The separating principle is based on a peeling mechanism. The wedge wire screen built from profiled metal wire stands at right angles to the direction of the liquid and the flat side of the wire under a 60° angle.
This results in a separation of the liquid from the solids, letting the solids slide down by gravity. The separating efficiency is about half the slot width. On the front side a collector catches the solids. When the solids are heavy or sticky the separating mechanism can be assisted by spray nozzles and or a brush mechanism. The housing is made in SS304 and the screen construction in SS316.
