The separating principle is based on a peeling mechanism. The wedge wire screen built from profiled metal wire stands at right angles to the direction of the liquid and the flat side of the wire under a 60° angle.
This results in a separation of the liquid from the solids, letting the solids slide down by gravity. The separating efficiency is about half the slot width.
At the screening end, the separated substances are collected in a collector. The removal of heavy or sticky substances can be supported by spray nozzles and/or a brush device. The housing is made of stainless steel 1.4301 and the screen material of stainless steel 1.4401.
