History of GEFA Processtechnik GmbH

The history of GEFA Processtechnik begins in Dortmund-Brechten with its founding as a trading company by the Swedish Gustaf Fagerberg AB. The first office rooms were located in a residential building, while the warehouse and production facilities were housed in a backyard garage. Modest in size, but full of ideas and drive.

On September 15, 1965, GEFA is officially entered in the commercial register as a limited liability company, laying the foundation for the company's successful history.

Once the exclusive distribution rights have been revoked, we start developing our own designs and take the production of industrial valves into our own hands. Initially, our product range concentrates on butterfly valves.

GEFA Processtechnik moves to Planetenfeldstraße in Dortmund-Marten. The previous residential building becomes an office building. Warehouse and production are now housed in a separate production hall, creating the basis for further growth and more professional structures.

We are expanding our product range to include filtration technology, thereby opening up a new business area within industrial process engineering.

We move into a larger and more modern office building with an adjoining production hall. In the Germaniastrasse, on the grounds of the former Germania colliery, we established our new company premises, which remain the center of our business activities to this day.

Our product range continues to grow. With the DG ball valves, we are expanding our range in the field of valve technology and creating additional solutions for a variety of industrial applications.

The inclusion of DOMINO knife gate valves in our product range represents another milestone. By taking over the production rights of DOMINO Armaturen GmbH, we were able to assume responsibility for production ourselves. Since then, we have been manufacturing DOMINO knife gate valves independently at our site and continuously investing in their further development and optimization.

We richten onze eerste dochteronderneming, GEFA Procestechniek, op in Nederland. Weer een belangrijke mijlpaal op weg naar de internationalisering van ons bedrijf.

In the 2000s, we expanded our product range, initially with the double-eccentric high-performance butterfly valves HG (2003) and later with the triple-eccentric high-performance butterfly valves HGT (2009). With these valves, we offer high-performance solutions for demanding industrial applications and strengthen our position in the field of valve technology.

A new chapter begins for our company with the acquisition of INDUTRADE. This change opens up new perspectives for us and strengthens our orientation as a globally active company.

We expand our premises on Germaniastraße with the construction of our second production hall.

Our second subsidiary, GEFA Processtechnik Co. Ltd, is founded in China. This is another significant step in our internationalization strategy.

We continue to invest in the expansion of our premises. With the construction of the 3rd production hall, we are able to expand our own mechanical processing.
